Genetic model systems greatly benefit from centralized stock centers that house unique mutants, strains and species. Inspired by pioneering examples like the Bloomington Drosophila Stock Center, we have now established an exhaustive panel at our lab for the Tetranychus system.
We currently house >130 isogenic lines and >15 field populations. We maintain natural mutants for pigmentation, host plant use, pesticide resistance, endosymbiosis, and fertilization. We arranged for an L1 stock center where we house CRISPR-generated mutants. In parallel, we invested heavily in establishing a lab space where we can routinely perform long-read ONT sequencing of micro-arthropods and perform targeted mutagenesis. We are happy to collaborate and share these lab resources.
